lorraine blanco is near pigeon point when their boat capsized, good morning, lorraine. >> we are -- >> reporter: we are just south of half-moon bay searching for two men loved ones are holding on to hope hoping they will find the fishermen alive. their 18-foot striper capsized and they were on a fishing trip with two other men who were able to swim to shore and call for help. one of the missing men left for san francisco early morning for a day of fishing with friends. >> he is a good brother, a good husband and good provider to the family. >> we will remain out here and we are told two men were taken to the hospital with hypothermia and we have a call into the coast guard and as

soon as we hear more information live we will bring it to you. lorraine blanco ktvu channel 2 morning news. an 84-year-old woman is accused of hitting a man at uc berkeley campus. they believe she may have been under the influence. it all happened at 840 at the intersection of hoist and spruce streets. that man has been taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. they were shot yesterday during a wild freeway shooting on the peninsular. jeanine della vega is live in san carlos with details on the shootings and the crash that followed, jeanine? >> reporter: dave it was closed last night because of the shooting and police want to know who shot at a car in broad daylight. take a look at this, this dodge

charger it's filled with with bullet holes. somewhere between 92 and san mateo, somebody opened fire on this vehicle and it caused the charger to slam across lanes and into a construction fence along the freeway. two people were shot and they were taken to a local hospital. >> we have injured occupants and we don't know if it was more at this time and we don't know if it was an exchange of gunfire or if it was directed at the charger. >> investigators don't have a description of the other car. this was about 3:30 in the afternoon. now we know police were viewing victims last night. they are looking for an update

on their condition but have not heard back yet, jeanine della vega ktvu channel 2 morning news. it happened saturday morning in potter valley. family members identified the victims as an elderly man and his developmentally disabled son. a few children were rescued by neighbors and by standers. deborah is accused of stealing drugs. she stole cocaine from the lab in 2009. now she denies it and the allegations triggered an investigation and they threw out hundreds of cases based on that case. if convicted she could be sentenced to four years in prison. president barack obama may already have the electoral

votes needed to win a second term. 270 are required to win the presidency. if the election was held today, president barack obama would win at least 271 electoral votes. mitt romney, according to the study would win 206 electoral votes. now we wanted out, five weeks of campaigning remain along with three debates before election day. the court could make history and controversial cases could affect the affirmative action and gay marriages. both were sold in northern california. the $28 million jackpot will be split by the red and white

yesterday it was cleared out. it was warm to hot but there are signs we are going back to a cool down. concord 96, it tied a record high in san jose, 90 degrees, it may be warmer and this will be a warmer day which is a far cry and it shows every sign of heading towards us. 50 to 61 and the 50 in santa rosa, napa 62, 57 in the city, west 7, everybody else is calm and there is not much of a breeze. we would have record highs but that's not the case. we will continue to get warm to hot conditions and it mainly stays in the 70s and tomorrow the coast will cool down by wednesday even inland it starts

to cool down after today. there is no sign of any rain. just lows helping us but september is just carrying us and there is a cool pattern extending for us. for us, today warm to hot near 60 degrees, 60 livermore, 62, although 50 in santa rosa, fairfield, 57, that is calm, sea breeze yet and a little puff southwest at 3. high pressure parks over us and i like hanging out in california, and by tomorrow, it starts to get bumped off towards the east and today, coast, bay, end inland, and then everybody starts to cool down on wednesday and we will carry it into the upcoming weekend.

very warm to hot for some, going back to 1952 and most locations are warmer than this. there might be a few that are a couple of degrees and we had that northeast wind and that's not the case. it will be cooler by the coast, here comes a big cool down and it will be significantly cooler. european markets are starting the week with early gains, despite the weak economic outlook. the chinese manufacturing continues to contract at a slower rate than last month. now the markets jump to 1.5%. checking in on our numbers, looking forward on our jobs, that means the job market does not look good. dow jones industrial average,

setting territory and we will have a look at some of the record highs coming up in about 5 minutes, here is sal. we are looking good getting up to the tunnel with no major problems and on 680 it is looking good from highway 4 and you will see some slowing in antioch, let's go back to dave and pam. allie rasmus is at the scene now and police are still out there searching for several suspects, allie. >> that's right, there are multiple gunmen and we get a sense of how many bullets were fired. >> reporter: off to our left, the bullet not only traveled to the complex but they traveled and shattered the glass on the opposite side of that

playground. two people were hurt in this shooting and a man and woman were transported with serious injuries and police are investigating exactly what led up to the shooting we don't know what prompted it or if they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. four people approached this building and opened fire and it appears the bullets were flying in all directions because there were 44 bullet casings, not only in the home but some of the cars had their windows shattered and they found bullet casings as far away as the median. now if you have any information they are asked to look into this double shooting which seriously injured a man and woman at this apartment complex. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2

morning news. police are investigating a fatal stabbing which happened during an out of control fight. it happened near model ray highway. as many as 30 people were out there fighting when a man was stabbed. that man was pronounced dead at the hospital. a woman is accused of killing nursing student michelle le. opening statements are said to get underway at 9:30. the two went to high cool together in san diego. prosecutors say she was jealous of michelle le and said she was responsible for a failed relationship with a former boyfriend. he is eligible for the death penalty if convicted. happening now the search

continues for two missing men off the san mateo coast. lorraine blanco is near pigeon point where the boat capsized, lorraine? >> reporter: they are just south of half-moon bay looking for any sign of the two men. it is dark on the san mateo coast but as daylight approaches, we want to see this as well. they are looking for the two fisherman. they are 20 miles south of half- moon bay and two men were able to swim to shore and call for help. one of the men left from san francisco early saturday morning for a day of fishing with friends. >> he is not a real good swimmer but we had hope that he

is still alive. >> we are told two of the men were taken to the hospital with hypothermia. the fog made visibility difficult but they are not sure what made that poet overturn. taliban is claiming responsibility he killed 14 people including nato troops. now international troops near a market in cost province, so far they have not released the nationalities but most of the troops in that province are americans. >> hundreds of protesters are gathering near a u.s. base and they are protesting the deployment of the aircraft. they landed this morning and many of the people in that area

car on 101 in san carlos yesterday afternoon. that car slammed into a construction fence along the side of the freeway. three people were injured and taken to the hospital. also right now, a search by the coast guard is continuing for two missing sailors off the san mateo coast. their boat capsized during a fishing trip yesterday morning. two men were able to make it to the shore yesterday morning. u.s. supreme court begins a new term one that could bring major rulings on affirmative actions. and the university of texas affirmative action program and even california's band on gay marriages will be considered. and arnold schwarzenegger was having an affair with

winter park florida. motorcycle riders were having breakfast inside when several suspects came in and started shooting. several people were taken into custody and several weapons have been recovered by police. they may have played a role in the death of an elderly woman. her body was found the affair oaks elementary school -- at fair oaks elementary school. she had been missing from the facility just a couple of hours earlier and it is not clear what happened but high temperatures may be a factor. governor jerry brown signed a law which means they came to the u.s. before they were 16 and are still younger than 30.

supporters say california streets are safer for everyone when all have licenses. that bill will require parents who don't have their children faction nateed to get a note -- vaccinated to get a note from the doctor's office. it also bands a type of psychotherapy making gay teens straight. that law goes into effect this january. starting today, shopping in san francisco means you bring your own shopping bag or you will be charged for one by the store. san francisco's new check out bag takes affect today. stores cannot offer you a plastic bag and if you ask for one, one paper or compostable bag, they will charge you 10 cents. this includes all retailers will be exception of bakeries

are hard pressed to warm up. temperatures by the coast warmed up after an unbelievably cool september. if they packed their bags they are gone. temperature inland, you can see the rim of high pressure over us. it has been there for a week and all signs point to us subtly. which means temperatures will be find and they are all on board, maybe a patch or two at the coast but cooling trends start wednesday and thursday. today sunshine, warm to hot, probably not record-setting hot but it is still warm for many.

armageddon, we are looking live and pam, it looks different, it is new and improved. late last night they finished just in time for this monday morning commute. it only lasted through the weekend, it is part of a billion dollar project which goes all the way to orange county and we are looking at it live. it is a story you will only see here, reaching out to chevron and chevron they are hoping will help revitalize the area. it is after all the criticism and the city of richmond wants chevron to help create a research campus at marina bay and that's where they have selected the area as its new campus. city leaders believe they could create a new green tech center. >> it is short on knowledge in
